Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! On our way south, we enjoyed the Palace Saloon in Fernandina Beach so much, that we decided to stop back for St. Patrick’s Day. Once in our slip, with a few boat chores done, we dressed in our best St. Pat’s “finery” and headed into town.

The Palace Saloon did not disappoint. When we walked in, we found that most patrons in the bar were also in their “green day” finery! We reacquainted ourselves with Artie, the bartender (in his finery), and enjoyed listening to the banter. We’d seen that there was now an Irish bar in town, so we walked up the street to check it out. Scott was in the mood for some Irish music, and the Palace didn’t start their live music until the evening.

At Okane’s Irish pub, we caught up with the rest of Fernandina Beach’s St. Pat’s revelers. It was much more crowed that the Palace Saloon, I guess an Irish name is more of a draw. We waited in line for a table, so we could get a bite to eat, but gave up the fight and luckily scored a coveted table in the bar…right next to the Irish music Scott was wanting! The music was really good, and we were able to eat at our bar table, so all was well.

We stopped back at the Palace Saloon for a final drink before heading back to the boat. Our celebrating ended much earlier than usual on St. Patrick’s Day, but we had more long hours to log on Wednesday, as well as more boat chores to do before leaving the dock, so we called it a night. We took a few pictures of our St. Patrick’s Day in Fernandina Beach.
