We left Jackson Creek in Deltaville, Va. early this am, headed for Norfolk, Va. Luckily, the water was MUCH kinder today, and we had a good ride. The tide fought us the whole time, though, so it seemed a lot longer than it actually was. We made it to our anchorage for the night, Willoughby Bay, at about 1:30..a 7 hour day.
Willoughby Bay is surrounded on two sides by military stuff. We may as well be anchored on the runway at BWI. There is CONSTANT flight traffic...helicopters and planes. A few have circled us many times, I guess we look suspect in our "Sanford and Son" vessel! We're glad that it's not mid summer, because it would be REALLY annoying to have the windows and screen doors open with all of this noise. Obviously, this anchorage is a necessity, not a pleasure stop. We have to time both a bridge and a lock opening tomorrow, so this is the closest stop to get a good start tomorrow am.
Tomorrow, we officially enter the Intracoastal Waterway..woohoo!(yes, the cats are estactic about it, too)Check out pictures from our trip today here.

I want to "DO THE DISMAL!" That's a dance right? Like the "Time Warp?"
